Suburb comparison

Compare suburbs for a home loan

Choosing between suburbs is usually a finance question as much as a lifestyle one. Pick two or three suburbs to see them side by side: who lives there according to the Census, what kind of homes they contain, what lenders look at in each, and what your repayment, transfer duty and upfront cash would be at the prices you are seeing. The comparison shows differences and sources. It does not score suburbs or say which is better.

Choose suburbs

Choose two suburbs to compare them side by side.

Each suburb guide names the suburbs most often weighed against it. Those comparisons are ready to read.

How the comparison works

The Census figures come from the Australian Bureau of Statistics and are calculated the same way as on each suburb guide. Sale price and rent figures appear only where a government agency publishes them free of charge, and the source is named. BorrowWise does not quote prices from memory, so the finance panel asks for the prices you are seeing and applies the same calculations as the mortgage calculator, the stamp duty calculator and the lenders mortgage insurance calculator. To compare loan types rather than suburbs, see the home loan comparisons.
